It kills plankton. for aquarium pumps and filters

I have had a very large and constant bloom of plankton in my 55 gallon fresh water tank. Chemicals didn't help and changing the water was pointless. I studied the plankton under the microscope, good science lesson for kids. The SpongeBob jokes paid off! I ran this for 10 consecutive days and the water gradually cleared. I run it several hours a day and the water stays cleaner than ever.

Great product! for filter accessories

I wanted to wait until the thing works and then write my review. I have a 36 gallon tank that had a cloud of bacteria in it. I've tried chemicals, frequent water changes, and different filters. I saw the reviews on it and decided to give it a try. I plugged it in and noticed a difference after a few hours. It's been up for two weeks now and it's like a new tank. I hold it all the time I highly recommend this product.

The product quality is low

I have been using this product for less than 6 weeks for 2-3 hours a day. The 'faint green' light (which cannot be seen when the machine is in my 50 gallon tank) is now out. To test this I had to take the top wooden box above the tank, then the jar directly above the tank, then place the machine in a bucket of water to see if the faint green light came on. return this product if I have not used it within six weeks.

Waste of money on fish & aquatic animals

After a few days in my green aquarium it is still green. Perhaps a minimal improvement, but in reality this "green water killer" did little despite what others report successes - $43 wasted. UPDATE: I've increased my rating from 1 to 3 stars. after many more days with the pump constantly running, the water is mostly clear. I like the fact that it seemed to work, but less so the fact that it took about 10 days and having this large piece of equipment in my 30 gallon for an extended period of…

This is an amazing product!

I have a 40 gallon brackish water tank. I was struggling with algae blooms. I tried a water change and it went clear for a few days, but then it turned green again. I bought this pump with a UV lamp. This pump exceeded my expectations! It was amazing and now my water is clear! The fish and crabs stayed in the aquarium the whole time without any problems. The UV lamp is fully enclosed to keep the fish safe. This is a really great pump and I would recommend it if you have an algal bloom problem…

Didn't solve my algae problem

I don't think there is enough light in the water. There is a black tube that houses the UV light and only a small amount of light hits the water as it passes through. You can remove this tube and it will kill the algae as well as all your fish. It also adds a very strong current to your aquarium. Not good, not bad, but you have to know. The bubble function works as intended. I can't get rid of my algae. I used chemicals, did regular water changes, changed filters more often than I wanted and…

The proof is in the pudding

Just what I need. Used in a 20 gallon aquarium with 3 goldfish (started with 2, added a 3rd a day or two after starting). The aquarium turned green after I did a deep tank cleaning and since then I have not been able to get rid of the green no matter how many times I changed the filter or did partial water changes. Yadico cleared it in 5 days. even. See photos. The only concern was that the pump pressure was a bit high for the fish. In the end, everything was fine with them, but for a couple of

Used in hydroponics (works great)

I installed this unit in a large 48 gallon hydroponic system that had lots of algae and was very difficult to clean. I tried to mask as much light as possible in the system. Also, I used a diluted mix of hydrogen peroxide and bottled sprays in heavily infested areas, but the algae persisted as the environment was ideal for algae growth conditions. However, 3 days after installation, the algae were completely gone. I even saw immediate results within 24 hours of the algae disappearing. It was a…
