Of course the quality is very poor, but what do you expect for this price? As others have said, I had to modify mine a bit to get it working. I had to add some washers to the assembly. And the 1/4" and 1/2" bits are not set the same. It looks like they just want to keep the 1/4" bit or something as it takes too long to add bits and still work. I had to use a stack of washers to make it work. Even then I was nervous about the time that it would tear apart and hurt me after seeing how bad it was.

I really wasn't expecting much - this is a budget option. A cut in the trim is required to seal with wedges. I've tried a 3/32" cutter and after only 3 pieces of 2 foot long softwood the cutting board is so badly bent it's unusable.
