Success came with the third protector ordered after the first two had broken glass during installation. On the third try, the supplied suction cup was dispensed with and instead a preliminary try-on was performed after removing the backing from the adhesive side and gently grasping the tread at the edges, resulting in an absolutely perfect fit.
