Faulty chain breaker

I didn't like that the chain breaker couldn't do its job of removing the pin from the chain I have. On the first try the chain cutter started skipping the threads making it impossible to remove the pin. I haven't tried any of the other tools that come with it, but I won't have any hope after going for the backup tool.
