Beautiful cuts in the right material

If you're using a drill bit for soft to medium wood, this is great value. I installed a doug fir scrap dovetail mount; sharp, clean cuts. I cut out 4 boxes from bamboo and by the 3rd it was boring. I switched to my 1/2" white-sided shank and that's it. There are better bits out there, but 2-3 times the price. I'll sharpen them and keep them handy on the right material if needed.

Pros
  • Fine-grain C3 tungsten carbide blades for a sharper, more durable edge
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging

Good bits for the price

These bits seem to be pretty good quality for the price, it's hard to tell how they differ from the Freud dovetail bit I have. I have other cheaper bits where the carbide is longer or sticks out further on one side and they are just poor quality. The only issue I had was that the bits appear to be taped into holes in the wooden box they come in. very difficult to remove and be careful when removing as they are sharp. I ended up using thick gloves to remove most of it, but I had to use the…

Pros
  • Create strong and beautiful corner joints for cabinets and drawers
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

When the angle matters?

If you buy and use as usual with a hand router and template then you will be happy. I use them on a CNC with software that needs to account for all cutter sizes. The width and depth of the cut is easy to measure with calipers or a microphone, but determining the angle is much more difficult. A 3/8" bit requires a 14 degree angle. When I cut my parts on my CNC, there were gaps that I couldn't explain at first. After scratching my head for a while, I realized the 14 degree angle was wrong. could…

Pros
  • For use on CNC, benchtop and hand routers
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
