Break easily for Spiral

We have tried several of these bits and while they cut very well they all break within a few hundred inches of use. Saving a few euros doesn't make up for poor quality. We ran a second one at a much slower feed rate to see if we could go over that and get the same results. Spend $10-20 more and get the best solid carbide hole saw. Lasts 4 times longer.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • are unreliable

They are sharp but break easily.

Have been using these bits for about 3 years now. However, this could be my last order. We are a full time shop cutting 8 hours a day, these bits used to treat me pretty well but now they seem to break more often. Not only do they break on my rough gears, but even on my final gears. I just had a brand new crack only 0.01" apart and 0.06" deep. I've ordered 5 more of these and 5 from another company to see if these bits really give me any trouble.

Pros
  • Decent performance

I think that's a value you can't miss.

They aren't as sophisticated as some of the other big brands. BUT - that's 33% of the cost with 90% quality. So you can count. You work very well in the CNC environment. I've ordered a few dozen over the year and have no problem running this at 100, 200, 250 IPM. It wears out a little quicker but the cut quality is great when it's sharp and again that's great quality. As the price goes up (and they are), they become less impressive. Hope this helps the next guy!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
