I bought a 9" Yost vise to fit a front vise to a small joinery machine. The bench isn't that heavy, so I needed something that would complement the structure without having to design a lot of support structure. I started with the 10" version but decided it was too big for my needs. I figured there would be no difference in size for less than $2. I was wrong. The 10" vise was 4 pounds heavier and required more mounting space.
