Good value for money. They are all porous except for the rock/stone/crystal bits - I removed and threw them away. I used it in my saltwater aquarium.

This range of filter media cleans aquarium water very effectively with minimal effort. Different sizes help with different types of dirt and provide a full range of cleanliness. Overall this is a great filter media that works exactly as it should.

They are very cool, they look great and seem to work really well. The circles, many of them, have small holes for tubes to slip through, so you can use them as weights to hold the air chambers for your tank. The aesthetics are pretty good, and overall I'm happy with it. In short, a quality option for me.

While this is a good set of biomedia filters, you might not need them. All you really need are white ceramic rings for good bacteria. I appreciate charcoal in a separate bag as it can leach nutrients from the plants. The bag was 1.1 lbs as stated.

Love that it has a bit of everything and comes in a nice oversized tote bag. However, I have to open it up and take out all the charcoal (if it's there, the description says) because the charcoal doesn't belong with the biomedium bag or filter at all unless you're removing medication from the water. But I'm very happy with everything that is and the quality. I look forward to using this in the next tank I install!

I am using a canister filter in my 50 gallon aquarium for the first 6 months. I'm just getting used to different types of media and how they clean the tank.
