I bought these for long term storage not freezer. I've found that in half the time (at best) the bags don't hold an airtight vacuum seal and the tight crease disappears and they look like regular ziplock bags. I was really focused on doing the pressure well beforehand and it doesn't seem to matter. I even tried putting a drop or two of oil on the gasket and running it end to end, thinking it might help hold the airtight vacuum better, and that didn't seem to matter either. I've even put the sealing pieces in the dishwasher (on the top rack) although that really isn't necessary - a small amount of soap and hot water is enough to clean the seal.
