I wear this on my jacket. Installation was easy. Simply attach. The zipper got stuck on my shirt, so I pulled harder than usual to unzip it. The metal of the bolt buckled. Normal pull has a much higher tensile strength than these replacement parts. It looks like the rod is cast iron.

The zippers on my backpack haven't had a lock for many years. I made it but I hated it. Finally, my spouse suggested we buy replacements for all of our damaged zippers. They are perfect: easy to install and durable. I will let you know more if we run into any problems after our luggage goes through the baggage carousel.

I liked the easy connection, but unfortunately the closure is rather weak. I bought 4 packs just in case and have already had 2 breaks and the 3rd is starting to feel a bit. To shorten the period in which this happens. They are now used for boot zippers rather than suitcase or jacket zippers etc. Maybe it's "fashion" and not a durable substitute? No digs, just my observation.

These are heavy and well made parts. I used one on a light jacket and one on a makeup bag. The problem for me is that the weight is too much for both. A pair of my tall boots had a broken zipper, so I ordered these tongues as a more financially viable option than replacing the entire zipper. The tab went (barely) into the zipper hole and all seemed to go fine. Just a few weeks after I bought the tabs, they broke when I zipped them up. If you've ever tried to take off tall boots without a tongue or functional zipper, you can imagine how difficult it is. $12 for four tags is a lot and I expect the metal won't bend at all but it does. They are very easy to put on and match my motorcycle jacket which was missing 4 zippers (I used paperclips for zippers).
