My second ZVOX (Still use the first one, too)

I bought my first ZVOX years ago for a living room music speaker. I liked it so much, when it came time to get one for a TV, I got another. I really like the newer SB500.PROSI like the industrial look of it (and no dusty fabric).Setup is much much easier than a receiver/surround setup.Sound is great.Bass is great right out of the box. But, I did utilize a standalone subwoofer with the new sub out port. Now, it sounds incredible.CONSPseudo-surround wasn't really there- but I didn't care.I do wish

It's made in the USA!

I am not much for writing reviews, but when a product offers exceptional performance or outstanding customer support or both, I feel compelled to do so.ZVOX is that kind of product in my book.At first I thought the company was Chinese, but no, lo and behold it’s American as apple pie! Not that I have anything against the Chinese, it’s just that I prefer to do my tiny bit for the economy and buy American whenever possible. The sound of the unit is just exceptional, it does project very well (it’s

Definitely worth it if you love simplicity

I have been listening to this for a couple of days and I was impressed enough to remove my existing surround sound system. First off, know what you are getting. This is not going to replace a Atmos setup or some 7.1 system if that’s your thing. What it will do is give you a wide and detailed soundstage that makes shows and movies much more pleasant to watch. I rarely turned on the old system anymore after the novelty wore off because I just wanted to watch a tv without complications and…

Simple, Affordable, High Quality

Vast improvement over your standard downblast speakers integral to your TV. This unit replaced a troublesome and more costly JBL system with Bluetooth subwoofer. Although we do not consider ourselves 'bassheads', we had become used to the subwoofer. We tested this unit w/ and w/o a wired subwoofer and decided we liked the richness the subwoofer provided. If you are not replacing a unit like we were, odds are the bass will be adequate. We were after something that was easy to install and use and

Pros
  • The six levels of voice boost allow you to customize the sound to your liking
Cons
  • May not be suitable for music playback, designed primarily for TV audio

Absolutely fantastic customer service and product!

So we bought this Zvox Sb500 roughly 2 years ago. Sound quality is awesome, and still holding up till today. When we first bought it, we were living in a small home. At that point in time, I didn’t need more boom. I thought and assumed that the version of the Sb500 had a sub out. And you know what happen when you assume lol. Anyways, fast forward to 2 years later. We are living in a much more spacious area, so I’m thinking of adding a sub in the future. Low and behold, no sub out on this Zvox…

Cons
  • Sound quality may not meet audiophile standards

I have gotten used to closed caption, but Hubby still dislikes it. Luckily we got this! The sound is fabulous, but the ability to tweak the sound and push the audio for voices up is wonderful! I don't know how they do it, but am so grateful that they can. I like that it is made in the USA, and the case is made of metal. It is a bit heavy if you were going to wall mount it-plan ahead it is heavier than the others we tried. But ours sits on a shelve behind the tv which is on a little stand…

Cons

Great Sound: my feedback

I needed to move on from my old Bose 5-1 cube system.(still worked) I didn't want to have to use a receiverand old Bose System. I didn't need or want a sub woofer (dogs didn't like) but does have a sub woofer out if needed. This bar sounds well and the adjustment are easy. Connects to my current Tivo remote perfectly. Just wish it had a HDMI .

Pros
  • The soundbar can be paired with Bluetooth devices, making it easy to stream music from your phone or tablet
Cons
  • May require professional installation for optimal sound quality

Perfect For My Needs

I purchased this product in September after trying several sound bars and a base. I waited to file a review to give the unit a few months to settle in.My sound bar requirements were very specific: had to work with my remotes, had to have a volume indicator on the front panel, and had to have a mode for clearly reproducing dialogue. The speaker could not be so complicated that non-geeks couldn't operate it. Only After satisfying those requirements would the overall sound quality be…

Pros
  • The sleek, low-profile design saves space and keeps your entertainment area clutter-free
Cons
  • No customizable EQ settings

It’s been a rough couple of years. Headline.health, lost spouse, finally moved to country club on steroids and all will be super with help from the Big Guy upstairs. Decided to get this sound bar rockin’ tonight. Am a Techy, did research and CNET et all are right about this being amazing. The AccuVoice is unmatchable. With my new 75” Samsung and an open floor plan it’s amazing. You can get the great sound effects and adjust dialogue. Come on you know you want to. Ran the system thru the top…

Good sound - clear bass without sounding muddy

I am happy with my purchase of this sound bar. I'm not replacing a previous bar so can't compare with other models. Certainly adds a new dimension to our TV experience. The 2 DIGITAL AUDIO inputs are both of the Optical variety and it turns out my Sony ULTRA HD BD player's DIGITAL AUDIO has a COAXIAL output so I will need to buy a $25 COAXIAL to OPTICAL converter.

Pros
  • The soundbar is easy to set up and use, even for those who aren't tech-savvy
Cons
  • May not provide enough volume for users with hearing impairments

good sound bar best in my review

I had a hard time deciding between zvox and sonos. I went with the zvox because it was $300 cheaper. I think my expectations was to high. The accuVoice was the reason i was looking at this product. Sonos has the same feature. The accuVoice is noticeable. But, it throws other sounds off. I also got this product because of the ability to use a external subwoofer. You don't really need it though. I am pleased and recommend this product if you are hard of hearing. Easy to set up. Even a 70's person

Pros
  • This soundbar is compatible with 50-80" TVs, making it versatile for a range of setups
Cons
  • No Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa compatibility

Excellent Sound -- Incredible build quality.

Purchased a like-new refurbished unit from ZVOX through Best Buy. Speaker arrived in new packaging with all new accessories and looks like it is brand new. This is an outstanding sound bar for the price. I've been looking at and listening to high end sound bars from Bowers and Wilkins and Paradigm, While they sound great they simply aren't worth five times the price of this bar in my view. If you value audiophile level sound but don't want to overpay I suggest you check this sound bar out…

Cons
  • No wall-mounting brackets included

Excellent sound bar, but not perfect.

This is an excellent sounding sound bar and the bass is much better than expected for an all-in-one solution. That being said, there are some obvious flaws that I'm surprised ZVOX has overlooked. The sound bar is designed so that it can be mounted on a wall, yet the power supply has a large transformer in the middle of it which makes it very difficult to fish through and hide inside a wall. In addition, the DC wire portion that comes out of the transformer is not very long which is also not…

Pros
  • The ZVOX SB500 Soundbar offers exceptional value for its price, making it an ideal investment for any home entertainment enthusiast
Cons
  • May be too expensive for budget-conscious consumers

I almost never give 5 stars, and the fifth star here is in light of the really good prices available on the SB500. It is amazingly good at it's price. In part that's because they aren't trying to get the bottom octave from a sub. Quality bass is always better than loud, flabby bass, and this speaker sounds clear and punchy, but it doesn't go that low. Adding a sub is up to you, but now you're spending a lot more, and maybe the Sonos would have been a better deal. The 500 is very good at what it

Pros
  • The Accuvoice technology helps clarify dialogue so you don't miss any important parts of a movie or TV show
Cons
  • Limited warranty options
