Love this thing. Works perfectly. It's a bit cheaply made - the temperature dial fell out when I turned the unit on its side for storage, as it's designed for storage. We were able to take the plate apart and put it back together. UPDATE: I've used it twice now and can no longer regulate the temperature because the handle fell out completely the first time I used it. I wish I had missed the return window for this. I can still use it but wish the temp worked!

I was born and raised in Sweden and used to an old 1950's Husqvarna waffle maker that makes waffle heaven because it gets HOT! you are as happy as you can be. Only with the right recipe will they be as crispy as at home. My only complaint is that the iron has to be heated above level 5 to get the perfect texture! I haven't had a waffle iron for a long time. I had one in Europe, but ever since we moved to the United States I've always held back and waited for the right waffle maker to come along. Well I guess there is no "right" option other than the one that works for you right now.
