So generally I just use whatever comes with my powders for applying. However I want to say that this one did make quite a bit of difference. I thought it would be softer but it was a little more stiff than what I expected. However the shape of it and the triangle made it very usable especially to get to the corners of your eyes. I too do not like the elastic around the top of the foot. It's bulky and uncomfortable. And, although I am a size 7 (and this size is 5 to 10), they cut into the area between my toes.
