Most of my smoke detectors take 9 volt batteries. They now have lithium rechargeable batteries in them. I have other handheld devices that also use 9 volt batteries and they are getting lithium rechargeable batteries in them for now on. No problems at all. Good for the planet and good for me. These are great! Added some holiday sparkle in an area with no accessible outlet. They can get a little tangled, but that was expected given that the type of lights they are so did not affect my overall opinion of the product. I do wish there was a darker gray color available since my sneakers are medium to dark gray and these are a little too white to look like the originals.
