I have read many reviews complaining about the failure of the fasteners on the straps. I said it couldn't happen to me, wrong. I was on my way to my first assignment, got out of my Lyft car at PHL airport, grabbed the strap of the backpack and the strap snapped instantly. Salvation was a replacement tape, which was there. When I got home I contacted Hynes Eagle, Maggie's support in China. She said she was only aware of 5 breakdowns as the locks were replaced with stronger ones. She sent me 2 replacement straps. I checked the replacement parts against the straps that came with it, the original straps were old designs. The interchangeable straps definitely had sturdier buckles. Q: WHY DID AMAZON SELL VINTAGE DESIGNER BACKPACKS IN MARCH 2017? Love the bag, the ability to tuck straps is a great design feature.
