I've used these lights to help illuminate a outdoor stairway with dangerously narrow stairs. They are small enough to not interfere with walking up and down the stairs. At least in my case, they provide enough light for my mother to easily see her footing in the dark.I gave this four stars because of the basic nature of these lights. For me that was a plus, with disgruntled neighbors who have never liked my landscape improvements nor a HOA with strict enforcement, these lights hardly standout and are not noticeable from a distance. There are no adjustment switches, no regular maintenance, really nothing to worry about. For other users looking for more versatile lighting options, such as to cover a medium to large area or looking to adjust light output this is not the product for you. However if considering lighting a small more confined outdoor area and worried about blinding light sources, these deserve a thought. Only other advice I add is to partner with outdoor tape instead of drilling or hammering nails. These are light enough to be held easily by strong enough outdoor tape, even in difficult conditions, and is well worth avoiding the heartache of permanently mounting something as small as these.
