Today where I live there has been a gale force wind and an incessant downpour and this umbrella is not just a lifeguard but a fighter ! It didn't break and only flexed slightly when we went for a walk to eat. I stayed dry underneath despite the slanting rains because this umbrella is so wide. I checked everything once I was safely back in my car and everything was fine - nothing broken or bent. I originally bought it because it's a folding umbrella, but its durability will make it a staple for me. Buy a few more for our other vehicles.
