People will be jealous

K Caramina had a good review but I'll add a little. I'm a subcontractor and I'm telling you this is amazing stuff. It's much more dramatic than hanging a finished board. This gets 4 stars instead of 5 because getting the perfect board can be quite a hassle. Yes, I'm a perfectionist and I came across a rented apartment with shabby walls. I had to start with two coats of drywall clay which I then sanded after they were dry. Then came another coat of primer. Then wall paint. It was all two days. On the third day I stuck masking tape on, knowing full well that the wall paint wasn't hard enough. If I remember correctly, I used three coats of chalkboard paint. Maybe four. On the sixth day, I put the tape on. Of course there were also pieces of paint for the walls. my fault I couldn't avoid brush strokes, and small gouges make the chalk marks less smooth. Next time I'll cut the sides and try a roll. I will also apply an extra coat and see if I can sand down any imperfections in the paint. By the way, I have absolutely NO regrets that I spent a few extra days preparing the wall with drywall and primer/paint. If your wall isn't terrible, just sand it down because you don't want to wait long enough for the wall paint to dry before applying it. If you are not painting the entire wall, USE TAPE.
