My laptop's 768p screen is fine, but I often want a larger screen to improve performance. There are several advanced screen designs on the market, this is the simple design category that just works. The downside to the simpler design is that it's thicker and bulkier than alternative designs, yet still packable with a retro laptop-sized laptop and fit in laptop bags. Note that you run the risk of crushing the monitor when storing it in this way, especially since the LCD is facing outwards when it is in the retracted position. A memory with an extended display installed may also damage some connectors/cables if you leave them plugged in. The best way is to remove the screen from the laptop and store it in the storage bag provided. intuitive - basically like a large phone mount. The bracket for this screen extender expands and fits my 14 inch laptop perfectly. The friction of my laptop's hinge is enough to hold the attached screen upright, and I was also able to fold the screen back to keep the laptop from tipping over. Note that your laptop may be different. If you choose to use it at a non-right angle, loading a hinge mechanism that isn't designed to support that extra weight could be bad for your health. Type-C connection is the easiest option if your computer supports it. My 17" gaming laptop (which doesn't go with this thing) turned on and was immediately recognized as the secondary screen. My 14 inch web surfing laptop has a Type-C port, but it's not a high-speed port. So I decided to use an HDMI cable. With HDMI, my laptop presented the worst-case scenario in terms of maximum distance: my laptop's HDMI port is on the left side, but the extended display's HDMI port is on the right, and the display itself is also on the right. The included HDMI cable was just the right length! The mount is asymmetrical and should be used on the right, but I was able to put it upside down and use it on the left by rotating the display image in the settings. . The downside is that if your laptop is actively cooling, the top edge (bottom if upside down) will likely cover the warmest parts of the laptop and block the exhaust port. This would be very bad and cause overheating, so I wouldn't recommend this for powerful laptops or using more demanding applications than Notepad. The screen resolution is excellent for its size, 1080p for an 11.6-inch screen isn't the highest DPI, but it's much better than the default resolution found on many laptops. The quality is normal: good colors and viewing angles. Power consumption at default brightness is around 6W, which is a load most laptops can handle but is best powered externally. This monitor ran on an external battery with no issues. In terms of value, an effective price of $199 is a reasonable price for a good quality 1080p portable display plus a mounting mechanism. As an alternative in this price range, a battery-powered wireless monitor might be more aesthetically pleasing as it doesn't require cables, but the trade-off is poorer image quality due to the need to compress the wireless signal. All in all, this is a good solution if you need an extended screen for your laptop.
