This was our first purchase of an air purifier and we are glad we bought it. I never believed in such things and thought that our central air conditioning and its filter would eliminate dust, pollen, etc. But lately I wake up every day with a sore throat and stuffy nose. Some days were worse than others. I have seasonal allergies and a history of asthma. I've been getting worse and worse lately and I'm wondering why that is. After searching, I came across air purifiers and ionizers. After reading all the reviews I decided to invest in one in hopes it would help solve my daily throat and nose pain. I almost went with an ionizer, but after learning how ionizers work, where they charge dust particles into the air causing them to stick together and weigh them down where they eventually fall to the floor, I settled on an air purifier. .I'm so glad I bought this! After the first day of use I felt the difference in the morning. I woke up with a clear nose and no sore throat. A week has passed and since then I have had no more problems with nasal congestion and sore throat. So I know it works! I bought this model because it was economical and because of the permanent air filter. I didn't trust these devices at first, so I didn't want to invest that much money in them. Plus, a permanent filter will save you money in the long run. So far it has worked without any problems. I leave it on the lowest setting when I sleep at night and it makes a nice white noise that also helps me sleep. I decided to check the filter after a week and it collected more dust than my central air conditioner did in a week. So I know it works! I have not yet seen how long and well the filter works. Some have suggested using a charcoal filter and I could do that. Regardless, it works wonders, I sleep a lot better and wake up a lot more energetic. I'm very glad I bought this.
