I wish I had known that earlier. I tested them by holding hot glue for about 10 seconds. The heat transferred to my fingers and was hot but didn't burn me. If I did the same thing with my bare fingers, a bubble would form after the first second. I love that there are 12 finger guards in different sizes. I will use them with both hands for most gluing work. Excess glue stuck to the finger guards will peel off immediately as the glue cools.
