I may have a faulty appliance but it didn't get hot enough to cook. I have slow cooked many pork shoulders in the oven and it takes about 10 hours. Reheat the roast 1 hour before cooking, lower the temperature to 275 and add the pork. The next morning I expected to see it was almost done but it was still raw. I was about to throw it out for fear of getting food poisoning but decided to keep cooking it at 350. After about 3 hours of cooking at 350 I tested it expecting the meat to fall off the bone but the fact that you could barely smell the meat cooking this should be a dead sale because although it was making progress it was it's not as soft and tender as it usually is when I cook it. I increased the temperature to the maximum and after 18+ hours everything was finally ready. We were brave and ate it (thank god we didn't get sick) but I won't cook meat in it anymore. I will only use it to heat food during the holidays.
