I can't say how this works for repairing leather or leather like, but I wanted it for recovering some boxes and for other crafts. It is easy to use and work with with a sticky back. Cuts easy too. For my use, I like it and it works great.Looking at it though, I can't see how this would work for a "repair" if you have torn leather as it is like taping the leather with another piece of leather-like fabric. I can't imagine this would look good, but it may look better than a tear if you can get the color to match correctly. I suppose it is cheap enough to try. It is sticky so that should not be an issue.
