) seemed to leave a patch of dry, flaky skin on my elbow that I usually lean on; Rather than forcing myself to give up sitting like Captain Kirk in my chair, I decided that aftermarket armrests suited my style better. They're quite thick, about an inch, but they're also quite compressible; They push back enough, but also give way if you try to crush them. Unfortunately, that standing inch difference means my chair no longer fits under my desk, but that's hardly a deal breaker. The pads are fairly comfortable and while I can't say I've noticed a "cooling" feeling, they never seem to get what I would call "warm" so maybe that's it. My only one Complaints about this solution would be the way they attach to the chair's armrests: Velcro, while flexible and reasonably secure, is uncomfortable in terms of noise, and the straps are very long. This length must then either be dangled or rolled under or beside the pillows, which will eventually snag on adjacent materials such as clothing. I also don't have enough confidence in the durability of my chair to cut the velcro to a length suitable for its current application. The trade-off here is that it's a flexible enough solution that can be used with many different types. armrests; However, I think its real strength lies in the single post style that supports the armrest as opposed to the style which is a gear loop. It will still work for you but will be more prone to slipping back and forth.
