Non-Durable Mask - Seam Tears at Eye Crease

This mask is good in every way except one; after 7 weeks of wearing the tip of the dart just above the eye started to open and flies could enter the mask. The fine web itself is strong; it's in the seam. The mask perfectly withstands pouring and hand washing in the rest of the world. If Shires could use a little more material and reinforce the stitching in that area, this mask would be perfect. Otherwise it stays in place and the binding stays in contact with the horse's head without tightening. The fleece is sewn to prevent flies from entering and the other edge is soft for pedigree dogs with sensitive skin whose fur comes off very easily. The darts keep their shape and protect the horses' eyes from the mask. The padded neck strap makes it easy to put on and hopefully keeps the horse cool in the California summer heat. The turquoise color looks amazing as does the overall style. The sizing is perfect: FULL fits a Thoroughbred with a large jaw of 16-2 and COB fits a purebred with a smaller jaw of 16.2.
