This is a worthy product for the price. At first I tried putting in name brand batteries which I already had but had trouble turning them on. Moving the batteries around in the battery compartment seems to have an effect. After replacing the regular batteries that came with this issue seems to have gone away, but I have confirmed that the original batteries are in good condition and checked that they still have a good charge. So there seems to be a bit of a fuss about it. In combination with the supplied splitter, I was able to use it to measure the power consumption of my devices. But depending on how you hold it, it can't measure the reading. So basically it works. I could imagine a high-end model doing much better. But for my occasional use, it did the job.
