Nice though. tips too.

These pillowcases look beautiful, very soft but. Not very well made, but for the price (currently $12.99) you get what you pay for. First of all I would recommend making sure they are the right size before washing by simply measuring them and measuring your pillows. The covers should be a bit bigger. Second, I wouldn't recommend putting pillowcases on without first washing them on a gentle cycle with a small amount of mild liquid detergent added to the FIRST wash. Yes, only the first wash. Again, this should be a gentle/delicate cycle at low water levels, only in cold water. (Most gentle/sensitive cycles should be fast). Make sure the sleeves are NOT turned inside out on the FIRST wash, as a lot of lint will fall out on the first wash. Also make sure they are open so whatever is inside will eventually come out of your pillows. In the SECOND gentle cycle (same water level and same temperature) turn the lids inside out and add some white vinegar. only (without detergent) in the second cycle. I used just under 1/4 cup. This helped get rid of any soap residue from the first gentle wash BUT more importantly get rid of the lint that got in there the first wash. (Again, I deliberately opened the covers before washing in case there was something inside that I didn't want on the pillows.) Finally in the THIRD gentle cycle (same water level and same temperature) with the right side up to all the rest Lint and vinegar are completely gone. You can zip them before that final cycle. Also, there is no need to add detergent or vinegar. For these pillowcases, you only need to complete the THREE STEPS above once. If you want to wash them again after a few uses, all you need is a gentle cycle with a small amount of detergent in the wash. Maybe add some really white vinegar to your rinse aid. And keep them open and close them. I know it takes a lot of washing initially, but it really helped loosen up the lint so it doesn't end up on you. Also, the delicate/gentle cycle we are in lasts less than 20 minutes.

  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
