Works as described, opens too wide

The strap seems strong enough and easy to attach, but it allows my doors to open 90 degrees and then a bit of cord pull. I have to warn anyone getting into my car to keep it from swinging open or the door will collide with another car in the parking lot. I could try to make it shorter if I could, if I can't get it I certainly wouldn't recommend them for the TJ Wrangler, at least I'm not sure if the length differs between jeeps.
