I just bought a new floor and I wanted to protect it from scratches from my dining room chairs. I was hoping that these felt legs would simply replace the existing plastic pads, but the threads didn't match the threaded inserts that came with the chairs. The old inserts looked like they could be unscrewed by inserting a flathead screwdriver into the hex hole, and sure enough they popped out. New inserts are installed exactly where the old ones were with just a few hammer blows. Included with the legs and threaded inserts is a nut that threads onto each leg to act as a lock nut. The legs the chairs came with didn't have this hardware so I didn't add them at first until I realized how useful these lock nuts are for keeping the legs at the exact level you set them. If you have to unscrew one of the legs to adjust the swing without a lock nut, nothing will stop the leg from rotating freely with each chair movement, which can eventually cause problems. Finally, I'm happy to report that the seller was extremely responsive when I contacted them. I was shipped fewer feet than I bought and didn't discover this until I had a few installed so wasn't interested in returning the purchase. We were able to develop a remedy that was more than fair.
