Review on 🐱 Hello Kitty White Zojirushi 16-Ounce Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Mug by Andrew Choukline

UPDATE 06/08/2021: Replacement lid broke after just a few months. The mug is useless without it so I just ordered another one from their website for $12. Reading all the other reviews that had the same issue made me downgrade my 5 star rating to 1 star. As soon as this new cap breaks again (and I'm sure it will), we'll look at another brand. They didn't fix the design flaw and it's stupid to add another $12 to the cost by replacing caps. We have bought two of these in the last few years. I like the 20 ounce size for lots of coffee, which is still small enough in diameter to fit in my SUV's cup holder. The first was a beautiful turquoise blue that looked great until the paint started to chip below the neck. Still works, so stick with it. Based on that, the next thing I bought was silver-colored stainless steel, assuming no paint should chip off. However, the locking mechanism broke after just a few months. I contacted Zojirushi to get a replacement cap and it took forever to get it and only after I provided photos of serial numbers on the ship, Revain receipts etc. Her rep was pretty blunt, saying they only replaced her as a "favor." ' because caps are usually not covered by the warranty (?). Judging by how quickly the lock stopped working I'm pretty sure it was a design or manufacturing defect as my ship is a few years older and still works great. It's not cheap and I expected friendlier customer service, especially as a regular customer. We use them both and given the paint chipping issue I'm not sure what can be substituted for this one without having a second silver. Hence mixed reviews about it. It's still best to keep the coffee hot.
