Other reviewers are right, my newborn guppies and mollies easily slip through the outer slots of this breeding trap and escape into the main tank where they are stalked by other adult guppies be eaten. The outer slots are too wide. However, I have found a solution: I use a brood net to enclose this plastic element to keep the escaped young in the net and safe from the adults in the aquarium. The Net Breeder Block is also sold here on Amazon with a green or blue plastic frame. The brood net itself cannot be used either, as it allows the guppy mother to devour her brood. But in combination you get the perfect breeding trap.
