This is normal given the affordable price.
Originally bought because it was cheap and just because I was tired of hand mixing. In general I'm very happy with it, I like how it stands and has its place. I thought the canister (mixer body) was a bit heavier than my old Hamilton beach mixer. Because the body of the blender is a cylinder, it is a bit difficult to install or build into the bowl. The blender starts at high speed and gradually gets faster! Ideal for all ready made cakes, peanut butter cookies, chocolate and ground chicken. Generally satisfied considering I didn't break the bank.
