Review on (Old Model) Toshiba Canvio Connect 500GB Portable Hard Drive by Phillip Reed

I have only positive things to say about this hard drive. Excellent transfer speeds with USB 3.0, one of the cheapest external hard drives with the opposite quality. 2 year warranty instead of the 1 year warranty you would get from others. I've been streaming movies of this to my Roku 2 box via Plex for hours and the HD doesn't seem to be heating up at all. Right out of the box I downloaded 300GB of video to it and again it didn't seem to get warm at all. Again, I can't say anything bad about the HD itself. The Pogoplug software, on the other hand, is rather disappointing. It works fine for streaming but is useless for backing up files from your Android devices as you can only stream one file at a time. Instead of using Pogoplug, I use Plex to stream and then use the ES file manager on Android to back up my files over WiFi. Again, there's nothing wrong with HD, but considering the software sucks, you can get Canvio Basics for a little less.
