Received yesterday and used immediately without any problems. I transferred about 200GB from my Windows 7 laptop and the transfer speed was just over 1.1GB per minute. Not sure if that speed is considered fast or not. I also transferred 150GB of data from my second Vista laptop and the transfer speed was a bit slower at <0.9GB per minute. Recommended. I made a backup from Mac to PC. You need to install a small driver (preinstalled on a portable drive) to copy from this drive on a Mac (not required for PC). Copy gigs from photos. Drive speed was more than adequate and quiet. The case is attractive and light. I have only positive things to say about this hard drive. Excellent transfer speeds with USB 3.0, one of the cheapest external hard drives with the opposite quality. 2 year warranty instead of the 1 year warranty you would get from others. I've been streaming movies of this to my Roku 2 box via Plex for hours and the HD doesn't seem to be heating up at all.
