I was hoping to just open the box and use it right away. nope It is attached to the base of the protractor and nowhere is it indicated how to remove it. After aimlessly messing around with the handle, which is marked on the diagram but not mentioned anywhere in the instructions, I found the spirit level to move out of the base. Okay, now let's put the batteries in. In theory, all you have to do is press down and slide the lid to open it, but again, no. It's stuck and now I've tried using a screwdriver and rubber gloves to help with the grip and still can't get it out. So annoying! I just want to hang something.
