Description of CRAFTSMAN Torpedo Level: A πŸ”¨ Reliable 9 Inch CMHT82390 for Precision Work

ACCURACY: Block vials of the level tool provide maximum accuracy of 0.0005-inch/ ft. (0.5mm/M). DURABILITY: Shock-absorbing end caps of the torpedo level hold up to heavy use. PREVENTS MARRING: Over-molded rubber end caps for non-marring leveling and shock resistance.

Feels strong, good magnet.

Instead of photos of strange children, hang this one on the fridge. Doesn't look like it's going to break, solid piece of aluminium. They helped me hang some pictures. I can't speak for the accuracy because I don't have anything to compare it to, but if you're looking for a bubble level I'm sure it's good enough. Think about what size you need. 9 inches is actually quite small in real life, and while the compactness and light weight come in handy, it doesn't exactly travel long distances.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • unreliable

It works out? on measuring and marking instruments

Oh my god. Don't use it as a ruler. The notch for the bubbling bubble kills them on one side. But also buy. It can be used as a straight edge if you want to use it as a straight edge. But if you don't want to use it as one; I think you don't need that. Because that's not really its purpose. To be honest that's why I bought it. I needed something to align the edges when making an important layout. But half the time it pisses me off. I could turn it the other side; but I shouldn't have done it…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Accurate, strong and magnetic

I checked the level and plumb with a horizontal and a vertical surface and then rotated 180Β° and checked again. The bubbles were perfect. I haven't tested the 45 degree bubble, but I suspect it's perfect too. The lower tier is machined from aluminum for straightness and durability (see image). It also has two magnets embedded in aluminum for easy use on steel items such as washing machines, dryers, ovens and so on. The bottom plane is the only plane that should be used for plumb, level, and 45Β°

Pros
  • Best in its niche

Very good torpedo level and hint to easily check accuracy

This is a very good torpedo level. It's well made, durable and accurate (at least the one I received). The horizontal plane is large and very legible unlike some other planes. (I found I have four other tiers of torpedoes that I forgot, but some of them are very old, one is inaccurate, and one is barely legible due to the dark and cloudy bubble glass.) I see some reviewers mention that they can't test it for accuracy because they don't have a known accurate level to test it with. But you don't…

Pros
  • Solid surface
Cons
  • Damaged
