This sign is well made and feels pretty solid. I can't comment on the magnet feature as my dishwasher doesn't have a magnetic surface that I wanted to attach the sign to, so I used the double sided sticky pads that came with the sign. The magnet covers the entire back of the sign so it should stick well. A sliding lid that says "Dirty" or "Clean" works well. It moves freely and has little friction at the end of its travel, allowing it to stay in place to show off clean or dirty without unintentionally slipping back the other way. It doesn't "snap" into place, but a slight rub seems to prevent unwanted slipping. I've seen other reviews saying their shield slider moves as the dishwasher door opens and closes. I don't understand how that happens when they don't mount the sign vertically. The slider doesn't move freely enough to feel free. My guess is that some kid in the house is playing with the sign and moving it around these houses. The text is large, clear and easy to read. There is also a clear acrylic cover over the text on the sign to protect the text. This allows plaintext to be cleaned without damaging or wearing out the printed portion of the sign. It's a nice touch. So far this sign is working well for me and I recommend this product to everyone.
