I have tried other filters for my GermGaurdian air purifier with mixed results. Most of them were fine, but some didn't even work because they didn't activate the "off switch" to tell the device that a new filter was installed. I just installed my first VEVA filter and the installation was easy (sides didn't tear like other cheaper filters), fitted perfectly and filled in all the gaps, and it was easy to install the velcro carbon pre-filter, unlike other filters that use tape If you don't get it right the first time, you ruin it). Also, both of my HEPA filters come with 6 carbon pre-filters, so I can change them often before replacing the more expensive HEPA filter. They're $10-$15 more than the last filters I've bought, but the fit, build quality, and better design are worth it, especially since I'll probably only order them twice a year. I'm impressed so far.
