I bought this for one reason, the sleep button. The tiny, useless remote that came with the Sharp TV didn't have a sleep button. My wife uses this feature EVERY night when she falls asleep in front of the TV. Yes, you can use the stock remote and press 4 or 5 buttons to get into the sleep menu, but my wife has little patience with electronics. Everything else for this TV is controlled with the DirecTV remote. This remote did not require any programming for our Sharp TV. .It worked immediately after inserting 2 AAA batteries (not included).
