When you need a chain lock this is a great choice. The chain is well built, and the built-in clasp feels more durable than most (it's all metal, not plastic, and feels like it's going to be difficult to cut). The downside is that like any chain, it's heavy. This particular model offers a good balance between safety and weight. Standard bolt cutters will have a hard time with these, but they're not that difficult to carry. However, powerful bolt cutters can cut through it. I wouldn't use this in a high crime area (like a big city or on a college campus where I would use a sold safe or artistic U-lock). But it's great as a second lock (e.g. for locking bikes and accessories) or for use in other safe places (e.g. in a bicycle storage room or in a garage).
