I had very high hopes for it because I really don't like inhaling solder fumes. And for big projects, that's not great. When I first used them, about 18 pack, using 22 gauge stranded wire, I found: 1. All connections were strong and secure on the first try :) 2. The strip side was easy to splice. You need pliers for both sides.3. The wires side was a lot trickier, trying to get the 3 small wires to line up exactly in the right position inside the device was tricky. There's not much to keep the wires from slipping into the connector until you close the lid tightly, so I spent a lot of time going through the wires to get them just before I grabbed a pair of pliers to get them trying to close the lid before they slipped off. .four. There are no test access points to measure voltage. I found this very inconvenient as I had one segment that didn't light up and the connector covers are very difficult and painful to open once they snap into place. Generally they make good connections and their construction provides good stress relief. However, it's probably quicker to solder the wires, as there is some fiddling involved in aligning the wires in the connector before closing them with pliers.
