Not slippery unless you are clean and cleaning the tub or carpet. Anyone who says mold exists is clearly a dirty person. No matter what type of bath mat you have, it needs cleaning folks 🙄 Depending on the nature of your tub, it may not stick to your tub. Slippery tubs work, mine is like a sandy texture so doesn't stick well (no fault of the carpets). The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that there is no padding so it's just a thin flat carpet not very comfortable for the child. Except that it serves its purpose, which is nice. As for the "smell", this is a new product, of course it will smell strange, but it will disappear! Would you rather smell like a used product or a new one? Rschunimagu
