Review on Panasonic DMR E50K Player Recorder Black by Michael Nard

This unit does a great job playing. I've never owned a DVD player/recorder and it works great with Panasonic store-bought DVDs or DVD-Rams. But as another reviewer mentioned, it doesn't read DVD-R. I've used a couple of Maxell DVD-Rs (don't know why the brand should matter) and the player says NO READ. You need to buy DVD-Ram discs, otherwise you can't burn anything. I've seen others claim DVD-R works in their devices and the manual says it should, but I'm out of luck and wouldn't spend $400. if you intend to burn to DVD-R with this device. Revolution. Much luck. Other than that, it's great. You must also have THREE PORTS (yellow, white and red) for audio/video output on your TV, otherwise you will not be able to record from your TV. If your TV is more than a few years old and has TWO A/V jacks on the back of the TV, you will not be able to record from your TV or VCR.
