Review on πŸ”³ Versatile 5 Inch 8 Hole Sanding Assorted Sandpaper: Superior Quality and Grit Variation for Optimal Surface Finishing by Maxwell Thomas

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Did I get a bad batch?

I always check information before purchasing and these models come highly recommended to me. I really, really want to like these pillows. The grit lasts very long, stays on the paper and the dust holes match my sander perfectly. However, the back of the bar wears out MUCH sooner than the sandy surface. My grinder ejects the pad in just a few minutes. The hook pad on my grinder is clogged with fabric/fiber (latch on the disc) that has ripped off the disc. I don't use a crazy powerful grinder. This is a cheap random Ryobi Orbiter from Home Depot that had many hundreds of Diablo pads on it. I thought maybe my grinder was clogged with dust, but it doesn't matter if the grinder is connected to the included dust bag, dust collection system, or "straight pipe". I've washed the grinder's hook pad completely and when I put the washers in I give it an extra initial push and twist to make sure the hook engages the latch well. At this speed, these pads wear out just as quickly. like the cheapest nameless pads you can buy in stores. The only difference is that the substrate wears down on them and not the sandy surface.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
