three lenses were tried out in the store. The other two turned out to be fairly good, while one had a front focus. A pretty good lens for $16,000 (cost of the version without VC). 20222 rubles. Since the absence of a stub is not at all important at focal lengths of 17–50mm, I don't think it makes sense to get an image stabilized version. More like a marketing gimmick from Tamron. You can purchase a Tokina AT-X 165 f/2.8 Pro DX for the same amount of money. The Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 is optically comparable to this lens, and it is even slightly less sharp when the aperture is wide open, but it has a nice "plastic" image and a superbly branded metal construction, which makes it popular on the secondary market. Unlike Tamron, which may be sold for just a penny after a few years of service. Simply put, I didn't feel honored to purchase this lens.

Pros

At f/4 and higher, the crispness is really good. including all the way around the frame's corners. Although it "cools" a little on D300s with automatic BB, the color rendition is not too problematic. Wide angles don't appear to have much vignetting or distortion (for a third-party product, of course). very small and light (important for thin young women). I've only worked with the Nikon stabilization system (VR) so I can only compare the Tamron stabilization system (VC) to that. The only difference I noticed was just a tiny bit more "twitchy" work from the Tamron stub.

Cons

bad construction. The hood ought to be handled similarly to a crystal vase. Strong chromatic aberrations are present in the 17–20 focal length range. dislikes backlight, yet it should be noted that all lenses in this price range dislike backlight. The price in 2022 lost its appeal after adding a stub to the lens. Autofocus can occasionally blur.
