I bought this to use as a drying/drying rack for cutlery and crockery because it has big holes in every way , apart from that Firstly, it's well designed and well made. The coated wire has a gauge that makes the stand heavy and strong. It has feet that allow air to pass under the base and most importantly the reason I bought it, the large holes in the wire maximize airflow and allow items to dry quickly while minimizing moisture build-up and mold growth . fungi and other microbes. A design flaw is that the openings above the bottom row are too large, allowing cutlery and thin utensils to slide out easily if the section it's in isn't filled enough to keep all the items inside straight. just. The bottom row of large holes will need another wire running through their center to bring 2 shorter rows to the same height as the bottom row. It would be sturdier and things would stand straighter if the shelf was a tier higher. Whether it is used for drying/drying or serving food, this is an issue.
