They were sooo easy to stretch! The bottom isn't a few inches thick, but nothing to worry about. I inserted little sticky felt pads into the silicone pad, sticky side up, so when I put them on they stuck to the bottom of the chairs! Purpose of purchase: The chairs swivel and I didn't want the chair to slide, they worked like a DREAM!
