I really prefer this little hub over the cloud hub. The cloud is very cute and would work well in a quirky decor such as a child's room. I wanted something that could be easily hidden from view in my living room. I use it with a toggle switch to turn on my gas fireplace. I decided to go ahead and set it up on my Roomba 650 as well. I bought a cheap remote here on Amazon and was able to go through the "learn" mode to set up IR commands. I wanted something to use in SmartThings because I like managing all my devices from the ActionTiles panel set up on a Fire tablet. I could set up Roomba controls with Harmony, but since I had that little node for the chimney switching robot, why not. Not the best option for controlling entertainment devices. I tried setting it up with a few different TVs and was able to control some things but not others. For example turning inputs on or off but not toggling which is the key. Since the harmony shines, but it is also more expensive, so it is definitely worth a try. Loses connection regularly.
