I thought it would be a simple case: unscrew, pull off the old one and put on the new one. But it didn't quite work out. Little did I know the key teeth needed to be cut the same way as my old key! so i can't just take the electronic insert and insert a new set. So rather half-heartedly: use an old dental key and only use the provided cap. (in my case the lid broke off, and that's what I needed). Now the problem is that an open button is not quite the same. sometimes i press it, but the signal to the car doesn't work. Half the time the button works and the other half it doesn't and I had to use a key to unlock it. Okay, not the end of the world. and at least my key won't fall apart anymore. but not perfect either.
