Didn't fit what I wanted but will do if you need a new key. I figured I could replace my old suitcase and put it in this one because I still had my old key. No, it didn't work.

A bit hard-to-find key-cutting spots ($25 each). Suggest to replace CR1616 battery when electronics is off. Think of it as a maintenance program.

Meets factory standards. Ace Hardware said they couldn't cut a third party key so I had to send the thing back. If you have a locksmith who can carve the key you bring, that's good. Ace Hardware sells and cuts a Duracell key case for $25.

Two experienced locksmiths couldn't get the new keys to work properly. After measuring the replacement parts (with a micrometer) and the original key blade, they found two things. First, no replacement blade was the same size as the original. Second, the two replacement blades weren't even the same size.

This is the second replacement shell I have bought for a Lexus key. With an original Lexus key and another spare case that I bought before, you can reuse the metal key on your ignition. In this case the metal key is cast and cannot be removed or replaced. So before I could use it I had to take it to a locksmith and then shorten the key to fit my old one. Not cheap! I thought it would be a simple case: unscrew, pull off the old one and put on the new one. But it didn't quite work out. Little did I know the key teeth needed to be cut the same way as my old key! so i can't just take the electronic insert and insert a new set.
